Collaboratively designed with our utility customers and our supply partner – TE Connectivity, the Tappat underground link box is ideal for new installations or as a direct replacement for existing bitumen-filled link boxes nearing the end of their service life. The Tappat link boxes come in a 4-way configuration and include 600-amp CAMLOK links.
Functionally, the underground link box serves the same purpose as an above-ground link pillar, enabling the network to parallel or isolate low voltage mains cables. However, it employs the diving-bell principle, making the link box submersible. It is securely housed in a Class C rated underground pit, with a Class D lid available upon request. This makes it perfect for situations where local regulations require underground installations.
The Tappat link box features a user-friendly design that minimises on-site work. Its ease of installation, proven technology, and unobtrusive underground design make it an excellent choice for densely populated urban areas as well as applications where there is a risk of vehicular impact causing damage to assets and outages on the network.
