COVID-19 Update - Omicron, Red Light

Written by TransNet NZ Limited on January 24th, 2022.  0 comments

Following the Government announcement yesterday confirming the whole of the country moved to the red traffic light setting at 11:59pm last night, we want to update you on what we’re doing to keep people safe and keep the doors open.

As we face this next phase of the pandemic, we continue to closely monitor official advice and shape our planning to remain effective at all levels of the Covid-19 protection framework (New Zealand’s traffic light system).

At a minimum and subject to change, the move to “Red” under the Covid framework has seen us take the following practical steps to keep our employees, contractors, and visitors safe and to ensure your orders are processed and delivered as expected:

  • PPE use, social distancing, and review of operational work shifts at our warehouse.
  • Additional cleaning of high traffic areas and common touch points have been reintroduced.
  • Contactless customer collections will be available through direct requests, and only via our designated collections area.
  • Pre-arranged client/suppliers’ visits will be permitted under the following rules:
    • When on site, visitors must be symptom-free, wear a mask and maintain a minimum of 1 metre distancing.
    • All visitors are required to be fully vaccinated.
    • The Covid Tracer App must be used.

Every attempt will be made to adhere to service level expectations; however deviations from these will be communicated if we are informed of any delays by our freight forwarders. Our stock levels are good and our supply chain is secure.

We continue to work closely with our freight and courier partners who have robust plans in place to avoid the well-publicised disruption that last year’s snap lockdowns had on their networks. However, we have seen overseas that sometimes even the best planning efforts can be derailed by Omicron and we should all remain prepared for possible delays.

We appreciate your ongoing support and will provide further updates as the situation changes.  If you'd like any further information please contact us.
